Theodora Harmon

Theodora (Teddy) Anneliza Kimber was born on March 26, 1922 in Pinewood, MN west of Bemidji.  Her parents were Gilbert Kimber and Caroline (Gleesing) Kimber.  Theodora grew up in International Falls and then in Henning where she attended country school at District #153 in Girard Township. 

Teddy married Ned Harvey Harmon on January 25, 1941 at the First Baptist Church in Henning.  They made their home in California for a time during World War II, then Des Moines, IA.  In 1956 the couple returned to Henning where they owned and operated Mobil Bulk Oil Company until 1962.  Ned and Teddy enjoyed their rural home until 1994 when they moved to town.  Their marriage was blessed with two children; Linda and Larry.  Ned passed away on May 9, 2005.  Teddy dearly missed her Saturday night dancing partner. 

There were many hobbies that Teddy enjoyed like sewing, reading, crafts, puzzles, gardening, and flowers.  When she needed more assistance with day-to-day care, Teddy moved to Country Living in rural Henning.  On February 1, 2020 Teddy passed away peacefully at Country Living and the gentle care of Knute Nelson Hospice at 97 years of age. She will be lovingly remembered by family and friends.

Preceding Teddy in death were her parents, husband, Ned; daughter, Linda; brothers, Raymond and George; sisters, Irene and Enez.

Teddy is survived by her son, Larry (Connie) Harmon; son-in-law, Larry Estes; 5 grandchildren: Larry Jr., Lisa, Bonnie, Brenda and Brent; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
