Susan Laura Rader, born on May 27, 1957, in Wadena, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Sidney and Lydia (Walkama) Kimball. Susan was baptized at First English Lutheran Church in Menahga on September 22, 1957, with Rev. Russel Anderson presiding. She attended school in Menahga and participated in Brownies and Girl Scouts during her youth.
For many years, Susan managed the Toad Lake Store, where she met the love of her life, Larry Rader. Their bond grew strong, and on December 7, 2007, they were married by Justice of the Peace in Park Rapids, Minnesota. Susan found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved flowers and spent countless hours sitting outdoors surrounded by nature. Feeding the birds brought her happiness, as did taking drives with Larry through the scenic countryside.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents and husband Larry.
Susan will be remembered by her children: Michael Branham, Ryan Branham, Dylan Branham, and Angie Elgren; grandchildren: Xavier, Fern, Hunter, and Dylan; siblings: Robert Kimball, Anita Phillps, Denny (Arneda) Kimball, Linda (Wendal) Harmes, Patricia Neal, and Sid (Char) Kimball; sisters and brothers-in-law: Deanna (Lawrance) Jepson, Dale (Natalie) Rader, Donna (Charles) Maves, and Scott (Desiree) Rader; nieces, nephews and friends.
Her memory will be cherished by those who knew her. May her love for nature and the beauty she found in simple and everyday moments continue to inspire all who remember her.
