Lorraine Rose Stebe was born on November 7, 1933 in Perham, Minnesota. Her parents were the late Richard and Annie (Basil) Stebe. Lorraine grew up in Perham and graduated from the Perham High School. She was united in marriage 67 years ago with Herbert Kath at the old St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children: Darnell, Randy, and Daniel. The Kath Family made their home in Perham, St. Croix Beach, Minnesota, New Hope, Minnesota and then to retirement on Rush Lake, in Ottertail County, Minnesota, finally settling in New York Mills.
Lorraine enjoyed gardening and feeding and watching birds. She played the accordion and loved music and entertaining family and friends. Lorraine was an accomplished homemaker, cooking and baking for her 3 children. Lorraine was a devoted Christian and loved camping and fishing.
On June 23, 2020 Lorraine passed away peacefully at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena, Minnesota at 86 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Lorraine in death were her parents: Richard and Annie; son: Daniel; and sister: Lenora Wallace.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Herbert; son, Randy (Kathleen) Kath; daughter Darnell Galvin; grandchildren: Jesse and Jeremy Kath; and Ryan (Melissa) Galvan; Amy (Brian) Des Marais; many other relatives and a host of friends.
