Harold Dale Snethen was born on August 19, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska His parents were the late Roy and Lucille (Tenopir) Snethen.  In 1948 the Snethen family made their home on the North Shore of Star Lake in Dent, Minnesota.  Harold graduated from the Perham High School with the class of 1951 as he was part to the undefeated Perham Yellowjackets football team.

On February 11, 1956 Harold was united in marriage with Verla Maria Perna at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham, Minnesota.  Their marriage was blessed with three children: Gregg, Julie and Jane.  Harold and Verla made their home in New York Mills for a short time and resided in San Francisco from 1958 to 1977.  Harold honorably served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a true family man, camping in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, riding dirt bike of the fire trails, racing quarter midget cars, and coaching baseball.  He also received a private pilots license and would fly his family to various towns just to have breakfast.

In their later years Harold and Verla managed apartment buildings before making their home on Star Lake, rural Dent in 2000.  Harold and Verla enjoyed traveling, visiting with family and friends and spending time on Star Lake.  On October 13, 2016 Verla passed away.

On April 6, 2021 Harold passed away peacefully at Perham Health at 88 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Harold in death were his parents Roy and Lucille Snethen; wife, Verla and his brother, Roy Snethen.
