Elaine Walther

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena, Minnesota.

Elaine received her crown of everlasting life at the age 83 on July 30, 2021.

Elaine was born and raised to Henry and Viola (Baumgartner) Jasmer on March 6, 1938, in Bartlett Township, MN. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bartlett Township. Elaine graduated from Bertha High School with the class of 1956. She worked as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone Company and then for Russ Davis Wholesale, retiring in 1992.

Elaine met the love of her life, Howard, in Wadena, Minnesota and were married on September 9, 1961, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bartlett Township. Together they raised their two sons Jeff and Tim. 

Elaine spent her retirement years traveling the world with Howard and family and being present at her grandchildrens’ various sporting events and school activities. She also loved hosting and preparing her famous foods and desserts for family and friends. Elaine was an active member at St John Lutheran Church and volunteered at various church events. 

Preceding Elaine in death are her parents Henry and Viola Jasmer; husband, Howard; son, The Reverend Doctor Jeffrey; and sister, Henrietta Schultz.  

She is survived by her son, Tim (Gretchen) of Roseville; daughter-in-law Christina of Cloquet; grandchildren Naomi, Hannah (Austen) Kovac, Michala and Alex; brothers Melvin (Ruby) and Gordon (Sharon) Jasmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church or the family will direct memorials to Senior Dining Meals in Wadena.
