He was baptized on February 10, 1958, at Evangelica Lutheran Church in Babbitt, Minnesota and later confirmed on April 20, 1997, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Sebeka, Minnesota. Duane graduated from Sebeka High School with the Class of 1976.
On September 23, 1994, Duane was united in marriage to Becky Christiansen. Together they made their home in Sebeka and were blessed with three children: Ashley, Roy, and Cameron.
Duane spent more than 40 years working in construction, primarily building pole barns throughout the area. He also farmed and took great pride in hard work and doing things right. A true jack-of-all-trades, Duane was known as someone who could fix or build just about anything. He enjoyed restoring old cars, trucks, and tractors, tinkering in the shop, and spending time outdoors. He especially loved trees and took great joy in caring for them. Duane was also a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Becky Graba; children, Ashley (Brice) Hermsen of Randall, Minnesota, Roy (Trisha) Graba of Sebeka, Minnesota, and Cameron (Hailey) Graba of Superior, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; siblings, Danny (Annie) Graba of Sebeka, Lanet (Delbert) Huttunen of Pembina, and Sue (Jerry) Keimig of Bemidji; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Gladys Graba, and his brother, Jed Graba.
