Delphine Whaley

On September 9, 1935, Delphine Elfa (Erkenbrack) Whaley was born at home in Wadena, Minnesota to the late Vernon and Elfa (Dickhoff) Erkenbrack. She grew up and attended school in Wadena, graduating with the Class of 1954.

On June 8, 1979 Del was united in marriage to George Whaley in Chisago, Minnesota. Del and George made their home Idaho and Washington. In 2002 George and Delphine moved to New York Mills, MN. They enjoyed traveling and antiquing.  Del loved spending time outdoors, especially gardening.

On December 12, 2019, Del passed away at The Meadows in Wadena, at 84 years of age.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Del is preceded in death by her parents; son Bobby Harvey; husband George Whaley; and brothers Don and Gene Erkenbrack.

Survived by one granddaughter, Ashley Papenfuss; brothers: LaVern (Karen) Erkenbrack, Ron Erkenbrack; sisters: Dorothy Bounds, Marlys (John) Barker; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held in the Spring of 2020.
