Clifford Olson

Clifford Harold Olson was born on May 11, 1937, at Murdock, Minnesota. He was the son of the late Franklin and Agnes (Bengtson) Olson. On March 17, 1956, Cliff married Marilyn Brenteson in Orrock Township, MN. They enjoyed 63 years together and were blessed with two daughters, Tonette (Toni) and Denise. 

Cliff had many employment experiences during his younger years. He worked on the railroad and with a traveling threshing crew. He and Marilyn owned and operated a service station in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, until it was destroyed by fire. After returning to Wadena for a short time, Cliff and Marilyn moved to the Twin Cities. It didn't take long for them to realize that the "city life" was not for them. They returned to the Henning area in 1966, where they have remained since. Upon their return to the Henning area, Cliff worked with his father at Frank's Place, a service station located on the junction of Highways 210 and 29 in Inman Township. In 1967, Cliff founded Cliff's Enterprises, which included a tow truck, junkyard, lunch wagon, septic tank pumping service, and portable toilet rental. Cliff and Marilyn retired in 2004.

During the 70's and 80's, Cliff was part of a trap shooting league, where he won many awards with his skill. He also spent thousands of hours on the lakes in search of "the big one". Bluegrass music was Cliff's favorite, and he and Marilyn spent their retirement years traveling to outdoor Bluegrass festivals.

On April 14, 2019, Cliff passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 81 years, 11 months. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes; brother, Archie Olson; in-laws: Anton and Dorothy Brenteson; brother-in-law Morris Hanson; brother and sister-in-law Darryl and Pat Stoppleman and brother-in law Mike Anderson.

Cliff will be forever missed by his wife, Marilyn; daughters Toni (Bob), Wadena; Denise (Rob), Holdingford; grandchildren: Nikki (Jason), Verndale; Brandon (Kayla), Wadena; Zachary, St. Cloud; Jared, St. Cloud; great grandsons: Boone and Owen; brother Marlin (Joanne) Olson, Wadena; sisters-in-law: MaryAnn Olson, Hewitt; Audrey Hanson, Big Lake; Glenna Anderson, Mission, TX; numerous other relatives and many friends.
