Obituary for Holly Poser

Holly Naoma Sydow was born on May 3, 1927 in Girard Township, rural Henning, Minnesota. Her parents were the late Walter Frederich and Rachel Belle (Hotchkiss) Sydow. Holly was confirmed at Nidaros Church in Clitherall, Minnesota. She was employed as a nanny for a Doctor in Henning while she attended school in Henning. Holly was employed with Ole Heino trucking and also with Louise Kertcher. Holly met Army Poser while he was working on the threshing crew with his father.

On June 12, 1943 Holly was united in marriage to Army in Wadena, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with six children. Together they resided on the family farm in Homestead Township. Army passed away on November 4, 1998, Holly continued to reside on the farm for the remainder of 74 years. Holly enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, quilting and sewing. She was always known to have her coffee pot on, sharing with everyone her love and goodies.

Holly passed away peacefully on November 16, 2017 at Perham Living in Perham, Minnesota at 90 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Holly in death were her parents Rachel and Walter Sydow; husband, Army of 56 years; brothers: Forest “Cubbie”, Henry “Hank” and Roger; sisters: Claudia and Goldie.

Holly is survived by her children: Harriet Huseby of Twin Valley; Marge (Ernie, Sr) Kawlewski, of Baxter; Arne (Alice) Poser of New York Mills; Karen (Dale) Wanderi of New York Mills; Connie (Brian) Mort of Willmar and Arlan “Butch” Poser of New York Mills; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Betty Lou Moe of Elizabeth; Janet (Marlin) Genz of Clitherall; brother, David Sydow of Sartell; many other relatives and a host of friends.
